A show of two halves (I guess). First, a great, bonkers euro-pop-reggae fusion from the Dance Dance Revolution soundtrack. Believe me, it's not as hideous as that sounds. Then, two very busy, very fast tunes from manele artist Carmen Serban and then Japanese avant-pop group Mosaic.wav. I took it down a bit after that, with a song by French collagists Gable and Addy Flor's easy-listening orchestra. I ended the show with a track from the ever-brilliant Eritrean Aron Abraham.

Carmen Serban - Am Si Eu Pe Cineva

This show was bookended by two covers: the first, a version of 'Somewhere' from West Side Story sung by Sam Chalpin - an amateur, unwilling father, charmingly chirping tunelessly over a brilliantly naff studio track. The second, a cover of 'Without You' (Nilsson and, later, Carey) by Cambodian singer Poev Vannary. Also on the show: a brand new track by the wonderful bo en, Sudanese pop by Adel Hassan, the mega-catchy '17才' by Jun Togawa, and a track by one of my favourite Ethiopian artists, Netsanet Melesse.

Dig That Treasure (14/2/18)
Sam Chalpin - Somewhere
Adel Hassan - You Cry
bo en - Love In A Song
Jun Togawa - 17才
Netsanet Melesse - Yametagn Jemere
Poev Vannary - Plich Bong Min Ban

Resonance FM 5.2.18 (The Go! Team interview)

This episode was an extended fundraising special (it's Resonance's fundraising week), for which I was joined by Ian Parton of the ever-brilliant The Go! Team. Over the course of an hour we discussed sampling and the new album Semi Circle. Ian also played a couple of tracks of his own choosing, before we played a casual game of 'Invisible Jukebox' (as per The Wire Magazine). It was great fun and I think it came out nicely... Enjoy!
